Set and forget? On the one hand, we’re delighted that Arkovi users find our archiving capability so easy to implement. But archiving’s not just for Compliance. In this rewind, we bring back our first business practice tip for Arkovi users, we explain how Arkovi can save you time when researching topics of interest.
Compliance requires you to save the content that you create and post on social networks and that’s what Arkovi’s good for. But don’t forget another powerful capability: You can also put Arkovi to use to track and store content created by others.
Let’s say that your specialty is Baby Boomer retirement issues. When you write your blog or newsletter Business or even when you present, you like to include a few topical news items. Arkovi makes the research-gathering process easy. Just follow the following one-time steps.
1. Go to http://news.google.com and enter your keyword search
2. On the Search results page, scroll all the way down to the bottom to find the RSS feed icon.
3. Right-click on the icon and copy the link address.
4. Log in to Arkovi. On your Arkovi Account Management page, toward the bottom, you’ll see the following box. Paste the link address you copied in Step 3 into the URL box and select Add RSS Feed.
5. Now check your work-go to your Tools list on the Account Management page and select RSS activity.
Voila—Arkovi is collecting Google news articles that use your keyword. When it’s time for you to refresh yourself on the topic, just check your archived RSS activity! You can click on any link in the archived news items to go directly to the original news source.
We use Google News as an example but any RSS feed you’re interested in can be archived in the very same way.
Yes, Arkovi satisfies Compliance requirements—but don’t forget how it can help you be more productive!
