Contrary to what some IT stalwarts may think, many employees are using it for good, Forrester Research finds in a new report. Respondents cite “staying up to date with news,” “getting ideas to help me in my job” and “to research information for work” as the top three reasons for engaging in social media. As a result of social media’s reach, more CIOs are looking toset a policy and stage a social media rollout.
This is spot on advice and we see this discussion in our interactions with enterprises we are working with.
- Social media is not going to go away if ignored
- If implemented with a strategy, tactical plans, employee stakeholders and the right technology platform - it can be done while preserving the corporate brand and integrity
- It should absolutely be a collaborative effort between Marketing, IT and Legal teams to launch on the right footing
