LinkedIn Security: Enabling Two-Step Verification

As we continue our series on social media security how-to’s, we would like to take a moment to discuss LinkedIn two-step verification. In order to take a proactive approach to recent social media hacks, LinkedIn has joined several other major social media platforms – such as Google, Facebook and Twitter – who are now offering added security through two-step verification. LinkedIn users can require a code to be sent to their mobile phones whenever someone attempts to log-in to accounts from an unknown device for the first time. Since the code is needed to complete the log-in process, this extra step is designed to stop computer hackers from easily accessing accounts.
