Social Media Minute Podcast by RegEd: (Google) Now I Get It

Google recently made it’s intelligent assistant app Google Now available to iOS devices. Previously only available on Android devices, Google Now pushes out information when you need it, telling you the current temperature while getting dressed in the morning or giving you a heads-up that there’s more traffic than normal for your morning commute. Google Now will even alert travelers on their flight status (as we found out on a recent business trip).

Many listeners have asked us how to get started on Google Now. For starters, Google Now is not a separate app on your phone — users must update their current Google Search app and have an existing Google account. Once the update is made, Google Now uses your location and interests to give you relevant real-time information. For example, if you have an interest in coffee, Google Now alerts you when a coffee shop is close by.
